Mr. George Gayagay is an orthopaedic surgeon, who has interest in hip and knee replacements, knee ligament reconstructions and orthopaedic trauma.

He graduated from the University of Sydney and completed his Orthopaedic Specialist training in NSW. He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeon and the Australasian Orthopaedic Association. Further training was undertaken with Prof. Paul Smith in Canberra and visits to both the US and Europe to work with surgeons in direct anterior hip surgeries. Mr. Gayagay worked in Sydney at the Norwest Private and Westmead Private Hospitals, while also committing some time to work in Albury over the last nine years.

In 2019, Mr. Gayagay consolidated his work and relocated to Albury with his wife, Dr Queenie Chan (Plastic Surgeon). Their first child was born in Wodonga in 2021.

Mr. Gayagay has brought his keen interest in technology in orthopaedics to Albury. He has introduced the first artificial intelligence (AI) navigated knee replacement, 3D printed knee prosthesis and, most recently, robotic-guided knee replacements. 

He teaches at the University of New South Wales. He has also worked to take orthopaedic surgery to disadvantaged countries.He is one of the pioneering orthopaedic surgeons sent by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and AusAid to help train and establish the orthopaedic department at the National Hospital in Dili, East Timor.

Hip replacement surgery, primary and revision. Anterior hip, knee replacement srugery, primary, revision, uni-knee and patellofemoral, knee arthroscopy including meniscal repair and ligament reconstructions and multi-ligament knee reconstruction.
