Albury Wodonga Private Hospital History
Established in 1979, Albury Wodonga Private Hospital started out as one ward with 35 beds and two operating theatres. Over the years it has grown to become the region's largest and most comprehensive private hospital facility boasting 103 beds, five Operating Theatres, a Day Surgery Unit, Mental Health centre, Sleep Disorders unit as well as offering a wide range of diagnostic and support services.
It is now regarded as one of regional Australia's most progressive hospitals.
In recent years extensive refurbishments have been carried out in the hospital to ensure it continues to meet community health needs and expectations. These include:
- Expansion of the Day Surgery Unit
- The building of additional wards to accommodate specialist services such as orthopaedics and psychiatry
- Expansion and equipment upgrade of the High Dependency Unit to six beds
- The Cardiac Catheter Laboratory
- Expansion and upgrade of the Operating Theatre complex.
Not only has the hospital grown in both size and services, but the Ramsay Health Precinct is now a true ‘ONE STOP HEALTH SERVICE' as increasing numbers of our health partners join us on site.
